Cancer has affected my family in a profound way. African American and Latin women are less likely to get the diagnoses and treatments needed so I am pleased to be a part of the cause. The CEO of Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in NYC is Dara Richardson-Heron, MD. Her Walk for the Cure is Sunday, September 13th in Central Park. The foundation is facing budget cuts like everyone else but Dr. Richardson-Heron has a positive take on it:
