How To Be A Sister CEO

Hey Cupcakes,

On Thursday June 25th if you're in NYC come party with me at Greenhouse. I am having a fun and fab Party With A Purpose to kick off the Breast Cancer Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure with my VH1 Tough Love sisters NATASHA Malinsky aka Miss Guided and ARIAN Mayer AKA Miss Party Girl. It should be tons of fun with a free martini hour, and Greenhouse is one of the hottest clubs in the City. Get the details and buy tickets HERE. And I will also have some Anti-Cancer Goodies here on the blog for you in the next week.

Cancer has affected my family in a profound way. African American and Latin women are less likely to get the diagnoses and treatments needed so I am pleased to be a part of the cause. The CEO of Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in NYC is Dara Richardson-Heron, MD. Her Walk for the Cure is Sunday, September 13th in Central Park. Grab some friends, some cute Pasty sneakers, and join us!

The foundation is facing budget cuts like everyone else but Dr. Richardson-Heron has a positive take on it:

"I love this job! When you’re passionate about eradicating breast cancer, fortunate to be in a leadership position that is “tailor-made” for you, work with the most hardworking, dedicated and passionate staff, Board of Directors and volunteers in the world, AND make daily decisions that have the potential to positively impact others — you can’t help but be excited, optimistic and determined to make a difference, despite the challenges."

Thanks Doctor! If you want to be a CEO like Ursala Burns at Xerox or Dr. Richardson-Heron, read How to Become CEO by Jeffrey J. Fox available wherever you buy books.
